Tim's Tips for All Star Mile day

Prahran Football Club, Fri Mar 15, 2019 12:00PM

WELCOME to  Tim's Tips - Selections for main Melbourne race meetings by former Herald Sun sports journalist Tim Habel. He is now a contributor to The Age so his tips for major city meetings will be in The Age formguide.

RACE 1: QUILISTA 1, Clarice Cliffs 2, Just Hifalutin 3, Mamselle Tess 4

RACE 2: JUMBO OZAKI 1, Write Your Name 2, Cristal Eyes 3, East Indiaman 4

RACE 3: TALENTED 1, Favourite Things 2, Varda 3, Charleise 4

RACE 4: ASSERTIVE PLAY 1, Tell Me 2, Causeway Girl 3, Write Enuff 4

 RACE 5: BELGRAVIA 1, Wetakemanhattan 2, Bering Sea 3, Mieszko 4

RACE 6: DIPLOMAC JACK 1, Mr Reckless 2, Lord Gododdin 3, Hussy's Glow 4

Reak poser here with the Waller UK imports Mr Reckless and Lord Gododdin key runners, both trialled well at Cranbourne. Best of the locals is Diplomac Jack, a track and distance winner and gets blinkers.

RACE 7: MANOLO BLAHNIK 1, Widgee Turf 2, Streets Of Avalon 3, Zebulon 4

Wide race. Manolo Blahnik is good fresh and Flemington 1400m from a wide draw is a good scenario for him. Consistent Widgee Turf, Streets Of Avalon, Zebulon and Hellova Street are all chances.

RACE 8: MYSTIC JOURNEY 1, Hawkshot 2, Alizee 3, Hartnell 4

Hawkshot to lead, with fellow three year-old Mystic Journey a shade strong late with Alizee best of the older horses.

RACE 9: MASTERING 1, Spirit Of Aqada 2, Tbilisi 3, Enigman 4

Mastering is a fresh sprinter and that is the case here. Looked very good in a March 4 Cranbourne 800m trial win and graded to win.

BEST BETS: Mastering, Jumbo Ozaki. VALUE: Manolo Blahnik.

1st leg: 6, 7, 12

2nd leg:  1, 3, 9, 12, 14

3rd leg: 11, 12, 13

4th leg: 5

For a $20 outlay you would receive 44.44 per cent of a $1 dividend.
