Two Blues in Good Practice Match Wins

A 100 point victory over Kew was the perfect remedy to a slightly disappointing loss against Williamstown YCW seven days before as Prahran Assumption Football Club’s second half blew the game apart.
Kew made a solid fist of the first half, where wasted opportunity was the order of the day but the PAFC turned the second half into a demonstration of the style of football it is aiming to achieve in 2011 by building on the 20 point half time margin.
The forward line kicked into gear in the second half with Adam Sleight taking over at Centre Half forward, creating space and opportunity for the likes of Isaac Edmunds (7 goals) and Mathew Pell (4 goals) to race away with the game.
On show was the team’s exemplary fitness level, with many players including the likes of John Dewar, Ben Furness, Michael Bremner and Lachlan Oliver putting their hands up for spots in the Round 1 line-up  as a result of committed pre-seasons and furthermore fantastic form on the paddock.
Paul Donahoo was busy on the ball along with Ash Wiggins, whose no goal return could just as easily have been five. Nick Brooks in the ruck was competitive and earned plenty of it until suffering a recurrence of his knee injury, which all at the Club are hoping is only a minor scare.
Attention now moves to our final hit out against Latrobe Uni this week at Bundoora before our tough first up assignment against Yarra Valley.

Theme Song

"Here come Prahran boys, here come the blues
We wont be beaten we hate to lose

We will beat them one and all
The bigger they are, the harder they fall

Whether the odds be great or be small
Gallant Prahran will win overall

You will hear the crowd all roaring
Com'on the mighty blues!
