SPECTRUM On Chapel is the trading name of Prahran Football Social Club, a not for profit club based at 1st floor 330 Chapel St.
Operating since 1994, Spectrum On Chapel has made, and continues to provide, a significant contribution to the Stonnington area.
Among its activities Spectrum On Chapel:
•Funds a Community Sports Program in local primary schools, Horace Petty Housing Estate and Currajong Special Needs school since 1999. This program was the first of its kind provided by a sporting club in a city area in Australia and its model is now widely used by sporting clubs . First managed by Derek Hine, Collingwood Football Club national recruiting manager, the program is now operated by Stephen Zayler and provided organised sports clinics and promotes the benefit of general well being among young people in the community.
•Enabled the Prahran Junior Football club to resume in 1999 after a lengthy recess. After initial funding from Spectrum On Chapel, the Junior club now generates its own income.
•Funded the introduction of netball (2013) and basketball (2017) in partnership with Prahran Football Club. Players pay subscriptions but all uniforms were purchased by Spectrum On Chapel. There are now 18 netball teams and four basketball teams.
•Provided annual donations to our charity of choice, the Lighthouse Foundation, now based in Richmond. The Lighthouse Foundation relies solely on donations to provide much needed support for disadvantaged and homeless young people in the area.
•Sponsored five children in 2016 and three kindergarten children in 2017 to enable them to attend South Yarra Pre School, based at Horace Petty Housing Estate in Malvern Road.
•Sponsors the Prahran Assumption Football Club in the VAFA.
•Sponsored the Viva Multicultural Festival at Chapel on Chapel in 1999.
