Prahran go 2 in a row!
Prahran has produced a stong showing to defeat North Old Boys/St Pats by 32 points at Toorak Park on Saturday.Blayne Dempsey scored Prahran’s opening goal after taking a strong mark 30 metres out. NOBs replied with their first goal, before Craig Northway, Mark McCudden (2) and Matt Laverty kicked the Two Blues to a handy quarter time lead.
In the second quarter the visitors pegged two goals back before Dempsey added his second. NOBs kicked the last four before half time to take a 13 point advantage to the break.
Damien Stewart (3 goals) seemed to have the ball on a string as the Two Blues stunned their opponents in the third quarter adding seven unanswered goals.
The final term was a more even affair as first NOBs kicked two goals then Prahran added two. Each team had plenty of chances to add more goals, but inaccurate kicking saw 14 behinds scored for the quarter.
Damien Stewart was a standout as Prahran’s best, with good performances from Adam Baker and Kyall Walford. Mark McCudden’s four goals from strong marks at full forward were highlights. Adam Sleight and Aran O’Hare sharing ruck duties gave the on-ballers first use from most contests.
