Two Blues Ten Years

The Prahran Two Blues are looking forward to a big 2009 as they celebrate ten completed seasons in the VAFA.

"With a new senior coach, a newly formed Under 19 side and the redevelopment of Toorak Park there is plenty happening down at Prahran, " says PFC General Manager (Football) Tod Mackay.

"Former TAC Cup assistant coach Steve Mead has been appointed senior coach for 2009. He was assistant to Shane Molloy at Sandringham Dragons in 2008.

"Steve's involvement at TAC Cup level is a massive bonus for us, particularly with the Under 19 side now being stand alone and with the continued development of our younger players. "

In a major plus for Prahran, the evergreen all rounder Craig Berger returns from a sensational district cricket season with Essendon to again take the reins as playing coach with the Club XVIII side.

Stu "Rexy" Livingston has been appointed Fitness Coach and Mick Windridge continues as Reserves Coach.

Mackay said that "for a football club without any school affiliation it’s a testament to our strong community ties that the Two Blues can field three senior teams, an Under 19 side and have a successful junior club."

After its 8th year of operation the Club's Community Sports Program in the Prahran area has again proved a resounding success.

Mackay said that although player and supporter numbers have been strong "Prahran is always on the lookout for junior and senior players to pull on the Two Blues jumper. Volunteers, sponsors and supporters are also a big part of our local club and everyone is welcome down."

The Prahran season starts 18 April against Fitzroy (away) before returning home to Toorak park the following week against Emmaus St Leos.
